The 3D animation illustrates what happens when cancer cells begin to grow and form a tumor. Normal healthy cells grow, die and are replaced in a controlled manner, but disturbances to the cells’ DNA through internal (genetic) or environmental factors can make the cells behave in a different way. These cells don’t die off as they should but continue to divide and grow into a tumor.
These cancer cells can metastasize throughout the body if not treated early enough. This is the cause of most cancer deaths.
