Deciding who will look after your follow-up care.
Some mesothelioma patients like to continue to receive care from their oncologist while in remission, whereas others are happy to revert back to their primary care doctor. Your decision will have to take into account the stage and severity of your mesothelioma, any side effects you are dealing with, and if your insurance company will allow it.
Keeping all medical notes and records.
It’s important to keep all the medical notes, records and test results throughout your mesothelioma journey. Keep them in an organized folder so they can be easily accessed if needed. Any change of healthcare provider will need to see your medical records.
