Nutrient-Packed Smoothie Recipe for Mesothelioma Patients

Many people undergoing treatment for mesothelioma and other cancers find they have no appetite or are suffering from fatigue and are unable to prepare a nutritious meal for themselves. In instances like this, a smoothie could be the solution–it’s an easy-to-make (and consume) meal packed full of vital vitamins and nutrients.

NCCN issues new educational guidelines to help cancer patients manage nausea and vomiting.

In this video shared in June 2015, Bibi Chai, a dietitian from Raffles Hospital, shares a simple smoothie recipe that patients can make at home. Chai adds protein powder to the smoothie which not only gives the smoothie the protein patients need to help recovery but also delivers extra calories which are important if you’re not able to eat much. Chai uses mango in the smoothie but you can substitute this for any other fruit you like or a blend of different fruits and vegetables.
